本次小組賽中，四個有三個都很硬，於是把挪威13年聯賽冠軍的Rosenborg當成必拿下的，賽前也認為是應該會拿下的。受到 獸巴，LP，皮薩羅受傷影響，本場的陣容與出戰Blackburn相差無幾，僅是把中場Sidwell換成歐戰經驗比較豐富的Mekelele。

對於幾日以來Sheva和Ballack在媒體上的表示，老大做出了回應。
1. Sheva 覺得自已已經傷好了，對媒體表示『不知為何自已無法上場』
